Too much Charlie White
Charlie White is way too prominent - he literally hosts every podcast and comes across as a relentlessly ambitious wannabe media star who seizes every opportunity to grab a spotlight role on these Triple M podcasts. Overexposure can be just as bad as underexposure. Plus, the Wednesday Journos show has regressed horribly since Michael Chammas’ departure. Chammas’ charisma and humor took the edge off Danny Weidler’s boring, pretentious and overly self-righteous presence - now Weidler is paired with a David Riccio soundalike who is supposed to be his main Sunday morning column rival but acts like a deferential buddy and even used his Sunday column space to campaign for Weidler to get more airtime on a football panel show. Riccio and Brent Read constantly and blatantly carry water for their sources and their agendas. Josh Reynolds, James Graham and Nathan H are borderline inarticulate at times, Wade Graham tiptoes around saying anything really provocative and sometimes seems more interested in skipping shows to play golf or go to music festivals. The only interesting personalities are Gordon Tallis, Luke Keary and Ben D. This setup needs a massive overhaul.
