Intellectually satisfying & challenging
As a christian who grew up atheist and now a seminary student, constantly bouncing between the two walls of atheism and hyper-Calvinism, I’m always seeking the truer truth. This is one of the most intellectually satisfying & challenging podcasts I’ve come across. Really appreciate everyone’s effort! Thank you!
Balanced and fair
Host gave admirable and fair treatment to both sides. So refreshing today. I presume both guests left satisfied with their treatment and portrayals which I think has the side effect of giving credence to the host and show at large and perhaps the implicit worldview they espouse that guides it. In simpler words, the kindness and intellectual honesty of the hosts helps lead me into a more sympathetic view of their own views which ironically is a more pathos approached evangelical method than either of the intellectual arguments from the guests.
10/10 - absorbing and enlightening
I listen to this podcast several times per day. There is no better platform for giving both sides the floor.
Brierley was amazing
The show used to be the best podcast with Justin Brierley, but they have been lost since he left. Some of the topics are good, but the interviewers don’t understand how to ask probing questions without making it about their own point of view. In particular, Roger Bolton comes across as very condescending and dismisses out of hand viewpoints many Christians hold.
Sometimes good
Sometimes very good debates or discussions, with competent intellectuals on both sides. Sometimes the discussion meanders and the two sides just talk all around the issue instead of getting to the heart of the disagreement. And sometimes, too often, what I thought would be an interesting debate turns out to be very one-sided, with other sides either not given or given very little time. I enjoy hearing disagreements aired out. The shows that just evangelize are a waste of time.
