Excellent Journalism

I read Gareth Gore’s revealing book “Opus” that sheds light on the secretive operations of Opus Dei from its founding. I applaud Pope Leo for talking to him and to this excellent follow up podcast that adds personal, first-hand accounts that reveal poor leadership and disingenuous intentions of this corrupt institution.

Troubling story of modern slavery

WFB1984•5/19/2026

Though most people will connect with this story due to the influence it shows Opus Dei has over the Supreme Court and organizations like the Heritage Foundation, the most gripping part for me was the story in the first episodes of how the woman Sarah was manipulated into cooking and cleaning for Opus Dei houses for years for essentially no pay. Literally slavery in the USA in the 20th century. And it’s happened with Opus Dei in Argentina, Mexico, and Ireland too. When you’ve been manipulated into such a life of servitude, I don’t know how you to heal to trust your decision-making abilities going forward with your life. Devastating

Interesting, eye-opening, and relevant

Some of the highest level people in the groups deciding who will be recommended for nomination to SCOTUS /lower federal courts, as well as the highest level officials in the administration and in the Republican foundations most intertwined with it, are anywhere from Opus Dei curious to full-fledged members. 5 of the 6-person SCOTUS majority are fundamentalist Catholics and the 6th is a Catholic who switched to Protestantism. Therefore, this series could not be more essential. Opus Dei by Garrett Graff is a good book regarding this group as well.

Completely bias

Now do one on all the left think tanks who do the same with progressive brainwashing at schools, hollywood, all media, and everywhere we look. Being a numerary is like being a member of any religious order. All religions sacrifice many comforts in efforts to grow spiritually. Everyone has free will to leave at any point.

Strong journalism
