Better options out there.
Anne Foster is about as eloquent as a high schooler. I had to stop listening because she said “like” so many times. She also insinuated during her Catherine d’Medici series that the queen’s choices may have been more influential than the holocaust. Guests are great, host is not.
Sad
I’m sad to have to change my review after listening to the Zelda Fitzgerald episode. The hero worship of a well known racist, confederate worshiping, n-word flying woman that carried her racism straight through WWII as a strong supporter of fascism is wildly disappointing. This pod is usually great at the intersectional part of feminism, but this was a HUGE miss. Odd that her trying to kill her daughter in a car crash wasn’t mentioned. Zelda and f Scott were equal parts terrible in a wildly toxic relationship.
This one is brilliant
For the smart and interesting people with a sense of humor and obsession with an era

Obsessed
This is such a great, informative, hilarious podcast. Ann Foster’s humor is just perfect (especially when she’s talking about Frances Howard). Plus she is the only person I’ve encountered who is also obsessed with the Wakefield Sagas. Absolutely 10/10!!
