And I love the pod

1. You can’t talk about engineering disasters without talking about politics. Infrastructure, regulation, and standards (or lack thereof) is inherently political. 2. I love the long episodes and conversations between the hosts. I don’t usually enjoy that style of podcast, but the three are all people I find likable and it feels sort of like listening to some friends ranting. Makes my long commute more tolerable. The guests have all been lovely as well. 3. As a radical leftist, it’s refreshing to hear people as angry about the state of things as I am. If you don’t enjoy that, there are ample podcasts out there for you. Being a right-winger and listening to this is the audio equivalent of putting a stick in the spokes of your own bicycle. 4. I personally enjoy the news segment. Again, it feels like getting information about current events from people I would be friends with, who share my understanding of the world. Even listening to the backlog of episodes recorded before I found the show was nice. Hearing them talk about things I remember happening, and listening to them process the strange progression of news in the last six years has made me reflect a lot on things. I guess in a weird way, it gives me hope, hearing people on the radio who are also outraged about the state of things.
