Started out liking it. I knew things were going south when she reiterated several times: “I was deeply religious but now I’m still religious just in a different way.” That quote preceded her discussion about how her OB/GYN prescribed the morning after pill following her sexual assault and she refused to take it on the grounds of her “religious beliefs.” Then she goes on to tell us that this practitioner slipped her a Mickey. A concoction or a pill that prevented conception. And she says two or three times “but I’m ok with that because my religious beliefs are different now.” What an idiot. If any of that is true her religious confusion has nothing to do with the fact that the health care provider committed malpractice. Zero credibility and uninteresting at best.

Just okay

Listened to several episodes, and this just isn’t up to the standard set by Kate with Buried Bones. Some authors are interesting, but most are dry and never hold my interest to listen to the end.

Grant Hayes

Hayes was black. This is significant. You think it’s not.

Always interesting

Kate Winkler Dawson has become one of my favorite podcasters. Her interviews frequently sound like she’s talking with a friend. In each interview, there is always something interesting. The interview for the book “London Falling” actually made me cry with the poignant ending.

/ Episode length: 48 min. / Ads + Fluff ⭕️ ⬆️: 12 min. / Avg time between ads: 12 min. / Based on episode: 12 ============================ Some podcasts on the Apple platform keep throwing in extra minutes of commercial ads every six months. Four, five, six-minutes of ads and more. It’s like they’re trying to strong-arm listeners, “Pay us through our Patreon, or suffer the consequences.” Not everyone can pay $100 a month for 20 podcast subscriptions. I have 300 in the list.
