Pretty repetitive

RajS-PDX•10/2/2026

Listened to the first two episodes, but found the information pretty repetitive and things most listeners probably already know. I preferred the older format and might end up unfollowing.

Biased Political Hackery

MickJayPlays•8/9/2026

Just listened to their latest “special report” from Friday and I noticed several instances of dark patterns in the broadcast that were overt political bias trying to disguise itself as “fair reporting”. The WSJ has turned into a dangerous joke. I could ignore stuff like this to get bite sized tech reporting (which is why I gave 2 stars instead of 1) but this is a bridge too far. You don’t hate the media enough.

Quality keeps decreasing

Scarbez•6/30/2026

The show's quality has kept going down for the last few years. Also, if you listen to the WSJ News Briefing, you already have all the details. Very seldom they do a deep dive into something actually related to financial tech news. E.g. half of today's episode about why is not a good idea to share your AI assistant credentials, especially if you have shared personal information with it, or have been using it to research health conditions, etc. Seriously?! Should we also report on why it is a bad idea to share your bank credentials? That it is not the same as sharing your Netflix account? The show is at a level for SAHMs that only go from home, to pilates, to Starbucks, to Target. Embarrassing for the WSJ.

Biased

Way too much left bias. Not an authentic source anymore

Not as reliable as it once was

Jared Herbert•2/11/2026

I’ve been listening to the WSJ’s news podcasts for a decade now and lately I have noticed a discernible change in their focus. There is a ‘subject bias’ or a highly narrow ‘cultural focus’ such that, while they still report the facts & news, there is an unavoidable hyperfocus on right & far-right-leaning topics/subjects that, in whole, are not reflective of the tech or business worlds. I've already unsubscribed from ‘What’s News’ and ‘Tech News Briefing’ may be next. **sigh**
