Yep
You do exactly what your intro says. Thank you for our continuing education. BTW… I grew up on a military base outside of Stuttgart Germany. Because of the location, I was taught the southern dialect. Northern Germans make fun of my accent all the time. I just say, “Mox Nix!”
Very interesting podcast!
This is a fascinating in-depth podcast with a lot of information. I don’t think you’ll get other places. I love their balanced view of things and especially how they point out the myths that have been accepted in the study of World War II. Their depth of knowledge is amazing and they both play very well off each other. This is a must listen or view podcast for anybody who’s a fan of World War II!
My Germany visits
I was there four times and I wish I could be there for the Berlin battles tour. My Dad fought the Afrika Korps in Tunisia and he had much respect for the German Soldier.
Here come the tangents
The chemistry between the two is phenomenal but when listening to a podcast about material that is already so well covered it’s really the tangents into deep dark woods that make this show special
Truly insightful historical analysis
"WWII: Both Sides of the Wire" is a masterclass in objective, deep-dive historical analysis. I appreciate how Jesse and Matthias move beyond the standard narrative to examine the conflict from both Allied and Axis perspectives. Their ability to dismantle long-standing myths while providing granular detail on strategy and leadership is exceptional. It’s rare to find a podcast that balances academic rigor with such engaging delivery. This is essential listening for anyone who wants to understand the 'why' behind the war, not just the 'what.'
