What the world needs from parents
I so appreciate Jen’s worldview and her highlighting how the power dynamics at play in the extreme injustices in our world can be replicated—or addressed and healed—in our relationships with our children. We need more awareness of these issues as parents, and it’s not an easy journey but the health of our children and communities and world depend on it.
Thank you for the systemic analysis!
I was grateful to hear your episode on how toxic systems live inside our parenting. Honestly, having watched my own government participate in family separation for decades now and in more recent years, a genocide against a population with 50% children, I do not trust coaches/thought leaders etc that say they love children and families but advocate for their protection selectively. I trust you more because you have this perspective- not in spite of it.
What all parents need to hear
I’ve just listened to episode 260: How the World’s Toxic Systems Live Inside Our Parenting. If you’re anything like me, you are wondering how people in power continue to do atrocious things and are still elected and supported. Jen’s work here, and in previous episodes, have put this into a context that makes sense- how we *might* use power over our children for ease and comfort or maybe a sense of control. This is how it’s always been, right? The world being what it is, we have to do better. Social change starts with how interact with our kids! We can’t ignore how oppressive systems affect us, our parenting and expect a better world. It starts with us. Great episode. I hope everyone hears it and shares it with someone!
